Our Nominating Committee, chaired by Pastor Jeff, has interviewed each of the following candidates for inclusion on the church's Governing Board, and is recommending them for approval.

Members in good standing should vote for or against each candidate, as they are all recommended to complete the Board.

If you indicate that you do not approve a candidate, you will be contacted by a member of the Nominating Committee.

•Community Group Leader from Spring 2018 to present.

Personal Bio

Terry has been married to Pam for 55 years. They have 2 wonderful sons, 4 grandchildren (2 & 2), and 2 great granddaughters.  Terry & Pam have been believers for 50 years and have both served in many areas within the churches they have attended over the years.

Terry served as an Overseeing Elder and as the Secretary and Treasurer for 10 years at the last church he attended, before moving to Columbia.

 

Terry retired in October 2016 after spending 47 years in management within the metals distribution industry.

 

Terry enjoys reading, watching sports, and digging daily in the word of God for nuggets of truth and light. He has a passion to take these truths to others to help them to better know the God of the Bible.

 

Terry and Pam enjoyed travel in younger years, especially to the Holy Land in 2005.

Personal Bio

Lester is a US Army Veteran, and also holds Masters degrees in both Public Administration and Business Administration.

•Sandkidz – Serving since 2000 where Denise taught in the two year old class, then kindergarten class and served as a Large Group leader.

 

Personal Bio

Denise grew up in Summerton, South Carolina and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of South Carolina in 1984. Denise met her husband Jeff at USC and they have been happily married since 1988. Jeff and Denise have two children, Harrison age 25 and Alex age 21. Denise has worked in state government in various capacities for the same agency for the last 29 years. She is currently an Information Manager at the SC Public Employee Benefits Authority. Denise grew up in the church and accepted Christ into her life at a young age. After accepting an invitation from her baby’s caregiver, Denise has attended Sandhills since 1999, a member since 2001 and soon began working in Sandkidz. Denise enjoys sharing the “Good News” of Jesus to children. She has taught in the two year old class and the kindergarten class and has served as a Large Group Leader in the Sandkidz Theater. Denise also currently serves as Board Secretary since elected in 2019. She previously served in this role from 2012-2015. Denise enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading, watching football, binge watching Netflix and much to Jeff’s dismay..shopping.
